PCCW-HKT mobile service brings you an exclusive “Auto Connect” function! With simple setup, your device will automatically connect from mobile data to Wi-Fi when PCCW Wi-Fi is detected, without logging in Wi-Fi everytime, save time and enjoy a high speed surfing experience*!

Note:
- This service is available only to selected handset and with PCCW Wi-Fi Single Device and Auto Connect subscription customers
- PCCW Wi-Fi Single Device and Wi-Fi Auto Connect cannot be used at the same time
- If moving out of Wi-Fi coverage, handsets will auto connect to mobile data.

iPhone Settings

Please use your iPhone handset to visit "Infotainment service content (m.pccw-hkt.com)" to download the profile and choose the PCCW1x Wi-Fi network.

1.Click on the "Safari", visit "Infotainment service content (m.pccw-hkt.com)" by typing http://m.pccw-hkt.com and choose "Service"		2.Choose "Auto Connect"		3.Click "Download"

4.Click "Install"		5.Turn on Wi-Fi and choose  PCCW1x network

Customers can use internet browser to access Infotainment service content (m.pccw-hkt.com) and content via PCCW Wi-Fi after the completion of setup. MU Mobile content is excluded.
With the additional "Auto-Join" feature in iPhone, the handset will auto switch to Wi-Fi network without logging in when PCCW Wi-Fi coverage is detected.

How to switch on "Auto-Join" feature:

 

iPad Settings

 

For iPad (3G + Wi-Fi) users, please click here to download the setting now. You can also refer to the below setup procedure, or click here to watch the video tutorial as well.

1. Click "Install"

 

2. Turn on Wi-Fi and choose PCCW1x network

 

3. When Wi-Fi is connected, it will have an icon in the status bar at the top of the screen

 

Customers can use internet browser to access Infotainment service content (m.pccw-hkt.com) and content via PCCW Wi-Fi after the completion of setup. MU Mobile content is excluded.
With this "Auto-Join" feature, iPad will auto switch to Wi-Fi network without logging in when PCCW Wi-Fi coverage is detected.

How to switch on "Auto-Join" feature:

 

For iPad (Wi-Fi Only) users, you can refer to the below few steps*:
* Please stay within PCCW Wi-Fi coverage for the setup.

1. Go to "Setting", turn on "Wi-Fi" and choose "PCCW1x" network

 

 

2. Input Username and Password^, select Mode as "Automatic", and click "Join" at the top right hand corner

 

^ Username is your mobile number and followed by then extension "@peap.pccwmobile.com" e.g. 87654321@peap.pccwmobile.com
If you have not changed your password, the default password will be the first 6 digits of your HKID/Passport//BR Registration No

 

3. Select "Accept"

 

 

4. After completion, iPad will auto switch to Wi-Fi network without logging in when PCCW Wi-Fi coverage is detected.

Android Settings 

 

Under PCCW Wi-Fi hotspots, go to "Settings"> "Wireless and network"> "Wi-Fi settings". Tick ON "Wi-Fi", then select "PCCW1x"		Some Android handsets require users to set a password for credential storage. After that, click "OK"		EAP method: (1) Select "SIM", then click "Connect" to complete the setting * (2) If "SIM" is not available for selection, please select "PEAP" and take the following steps

Phase 2 authentication: Select "MSCHAPV2"		Identity: Input your mobile number followed by: @peap.pccwmobile.com e.g. 87654321@peap.pccwmobile.com Password: If you have not changed your password, the default password will be the first 6 digits of your HKID/passport/BR Registration No. If you’ve forgotten the password, please dial *111# on your handset to reset password. Then, click "Connect"		PCCW1x is connected and the Wi-Fi symbol appears at the top of the screen

* Customers can use internet browser to access Infotainment service content (m.pccw-hkt.com) and content via PCCW Wi-Fi after the completion of setup. MU Mobile content is excluded. (Not applicable to the connection with EAP-PEAP setup)

Remarks:
- Not applicable to Android U mini and U plus.

Windows Phone Settings

 

While within PCCW Wi-Fi coverage, go to "Settings" > "System" > "WiFi", then turn on "WiFi networking" and press "advanced".		Tick "Automatically connect to Wi-Fi hotspots".		Select the "PCCW1x" SSID and you will be connected to the Wi-Fi network automatically.

 

If your Windows Phone does not have the feature of "Automatically connect to Wi-Fi hotspots", please follow the steps below.

While within PCCW Wi-Fi coverage, go to "Settings" > "System" > "WiFi", then turn ON "WiFi networking" and choose "PCCW1x".		Enter your mobile number, followed by @peap.pccwmobile.com as the username and password*. Then, click "Done".		PCCW1x is "connected" and the Wi-Fi symbol appears.

 

Remarks: *If you have not changed your password, the default password will be the first 6 digits of your HKID/passport/BR number.

Symbian ^3 Settings

 

Go to "Setting"		Select "Connectivity"		Select "WLAN"		Select "PCCW1x", and then select "Start Browsing"

 Customers can use internet browser to access Infotainment service content (m.pccw-hkt.com) and content via PCCW Wi-Fi after the completion of setup. MU Mobile content is excluded.

Remarks:
- This version temporary cannot auto join “Wi-Fi” and require following the step to join Wi-Fi every time. A new version will be released soon to allow auto join function.

 

Frequently Asked Questions

 

Q1.  Unable to download Auto Connect profile for iPhone/iPad at WAP/Web

In normal case, users will see the below screens after clicking the Auto Connect profile links as above.  If users encounter download problem like below sample screens:

iPad	iPhone

It may be caused by some file browsers (available at AppStore) interrupting the installation of Auto Connect profile.  Possible files which will interrupt the installation are “FileApp” or “iFile”.

Suggest to un-install the above file browsers App before installing Auto Connect profile, and then re-install file browsers again.

Q2.  Auto Connect profile cannot be worked after upgraded OS (for iPhone or iPad)

Suggest the user to uninstall and reinstall Auto Connect profile, restart the device.
